As the government lowered the maximum price of petroleum products, the national average price of gasoline fell to the 1,900 won per liter range in about two months. As tensions in the Middle East ease and international oil prices show signs of stabilization, it is expected that domestic oil prices will continue to decline for the time being. According to the Korea National Oil Corporation's oil price information system Offinet on the 28th, the average selling price of gasoline at gas stations nationwide as of 4 p.m. was 1,987.57 won per liter, down 8.53 won from the previous day. The average price of diesel was 1,978.32 won, down 8.86 won. The average price of gasoline fell to 1,996.1 won the day before, the first day of enforcement of the 7th maximum price, and entered the 1,900 won range about two months after April 17. From midnight on the 27th, the government lowered the 7th maximum price by 150 won per liter from the 6th, setting it at 1,784 won for gasoline, 1,773 won for diesel, and 1,380 won for kerosene. The maximum price applies to the oil refinery supply price. Considering that gas stations usually add a margin of around 100 won per liter to the supply price, the selling price of gasoline and diesel is expected to drop to the 1,800 won range.
