A man in his 40s who stalked a neighbor who moved in in August 2025, knocked on the front door several times and even broke the door, was sentenced to probation. On the 28th, Chief Judge Jeong Jong-gun of Criminal Division 1 of the Chuncheon District Court announced that he sentenced a man in his 40s indicted on charges of violating the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes and Damaging Special Property to six months in prison and three years of probation. As a result of the investigation, it was reported that the man stalked the victim, a newly moved soldier, by asking questions such as “Where did you work before?” and “Why did you come here when it wasn’t even a military residence?” Chief Judge Jeong explained the reason for the sentencing, saying, “The guilt of stalking the victim without any particular reason and breaking the front door with a dangerous object is not light, but the sentence was decided based on the fact that he admitted to the crime and paid back the cost of repairing the damaged property.”
