The former president of the Government of Spain, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, was charged by the National Court with three crimes in an alleged influence peddling plot linked to the public rescue of the airline Plus Ultra during the pandemic. For the first time in democracy, a former head of the Executive must testify as being investigated in a corruption case.
