When talking about the searches for cousins Letycia Garcia Mendes and Sttela Dalva Melegari Almeida, delegate Luis Fernando Alves Silva, from the Civil Police (PC-PR), made reference to the case of the four men who were killed after a debt collection in Paraná, in August 2025. Watch above.
The two crimes are not connected, but there are similarities. The main one involves the complexity of the investigation, which faces difficulties in finding the young women. For the police, they were victims of homicide — and just as happened in the death of the four men, there is a delay in locating the victims.

This Wednesday (17), the cousins' disappearance completed 57 days. They disappeared on April 21 of this year. In the case of the men, their bodies took 44 days to be found. They were buried inside a car, in a bunker.
During a press conference on the cousins' case, the police chief mentioned the death of the men when he said that, at the time of the search for them, the police received a report with the specific coordinates of the bodies, which made the work easier. In both cases, the crimes were in the Northwest region of Paraná.
"We don't have an exact report of an exact location, for example, like Icaraíma and other cases there that give an exact location. We have indications of regions", the delegate said.

Currently, the Civil Police are searching for young women in Paraíso do Norte, in the northwest of the state.
On Tuesday (16), the police chief reported that there was an expectation that this work could bring closure to their disappearance, however, without a report with the exact location of where possible bodies could be, the work requires scanning a larger area. Chief Luis Fernando did not elaborate on why the police started to consider the location as a search area.
Until the last update of this report, there was no news about the whereabouts of the cousins or the motivation for the crime. The main suspect is Clayton Antonio da Silva Cruz, who was filmed and photographed with them before their disappearance. He's on the run.
