The accident occurred in the middle of the rain, at km 35, in Córrego do Ouro. According to the Military Police, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. When teams from the Highway Police Command arrived at the scene, the Fire Department was already rescuing the animals trapped in the trailer, which was on the side of the highway. The driver received initial care at the Córrego do Ouro health center and was taken to the Macaé Public Hospital (HPM). His health status was not disclosed. The load was the responsibility of a representative of the company responsible for the animals. The case was registered at the 123rd Macaé Police Station, and the causes of the accident will be investigated.
