40,000 hectares are restored annually to combat fire losses

The sub-director of forest property protection at the General Directorate of Forests, Saeed Freitas, confirmed that forest fires in Algeria recorded a decline for the second year in a row in terms of the number of fires and affected areas, noting that public authorities annually replant and restore the equivalent of or exceeding 40 thousand hectares, which is the annual average of forest areas lost due to fires.
