According to investigations, control of the victims was maintained through debts imposed by the group. Women were forced to meet goals, such as consuming 40 doses of alcohol per week and performing 20 sexual programs per day.
The Public Ministry of Labor reported that the victims could not leave the properties without authorization. Furthermore, they were subjected to relentless work and degrading conditions.
"The victims worked and lived in the same nuisance. It was a room without a window, without natural ventilation, with moldy walls, a bad smell, sheets in poor condition, without cabinets, they kept all their belongings on the floor. They only received two meals a day and could only leave the establishment with the permission of the explorers and accompanied by someone from the house", details Tatiana Bivar Simonetti, the work attorney.
According to Tatiana, the victims worked 12 or more hours a day, without rest breaks, making it an exhausting day.
Labor inspectors ordered the immediate end of the irregularities found. They also ordered the payment of labor compensation and guarantee assistance so that the victims can return to their hometowns.
