Application driver is killed in the North Zone of Rio An app driver was found shot dead and showing signs of torture this Tuesday morning (16) in Penha Circular, North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. According to relatives, Sandro Castro Menezes left home around 7pm on Monday (15th) to go to work and did not return. During the night, the family tried to contact us several times, with no response. At 4am on Tuesday, they went to the police. Shortly afterwards, at around 9:30 am, information came that Sandro's body had been found on Rua Francisco Enes. According to the family, the body showed signs of extreme violence. Sandro would have been tortured before being shot dead — there were more than 20 shots. Family members believe that the driver may have mistakenly entered an area dominated by organized crime while racing in the Penha region. The hypothesis, however, has not yet been confirmed by the police. According to the corporation, police officers found the body of a man with marks from gunshots. The area was isolated and preserved for the work of the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC).
