Tokyo District Court orders compensation of over 1.3 billion yen to three construction companies over condominium slope issue

Eleven years ago, in a lawsuit in which the real estate company that sold the condominium in Yokohama sought compensation of over 50 billion yen from the three companies involved in the construction over a problem found in a condominium in Yokohama City that was tilted, the Tokyo District Court ordered the three companies to pay compensation of over 1.3 billion yen, stating that ``some buildings had defects that impaired the basic safety of the building.'' On the other hand, the real estate company did not recognize the cost of rebuilding the entire building as damages.
