The Special Criminal Court opened the trial of François Bozizé in the Bossembélé case this Tuesday in Bangui. In exile in Guinea-Bissau, the former head of state is being tried in absentia alongside three of his main military officers. All are being prosecuted for alleged crimes against humanity committed between 2009 and 2013 in Bangui, Bossembélé and Bouar. This is the sixth trial organized by the Special Criminal Court since the start of its activities in the Central African Republic in 2018.
