According to the Financial Times, Russian security services have temporarily deactivated a surveillance system dedicated to protecting Vladimir Putin and his entourage, following the assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in February. The reason: this system would encourage espionage. An incident which highlights the increased threat that AI video analysis represents for Russian leaders, believes Ksenia Ermoshina, senior researcher at the CNRS Internet and Society Center.
