The results of a large study of more than 31,000 patients with type 2 diabetes show that a group of common blood pressure control drugs may increase the risk of developing kidney disease. Although these findings do not yet prove a cause-and-effect relationship, the researchers say, they could influence how blood pressure medications are chosen in diabetic patients.
