Alongside the Emir of Qatar, American President Donald Trump spoke about the truce agreement signed with Iran. He said that the text makes it clear that Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.
Trump demanded more responsibility from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in relation to Lebanon. On Monday (15), Netanyahu said that the fight is not over and that he will continue operations to neutralize the threats from the extremist group Hezbollah, an Iranian ally in Lebanon. This Tuesday (16), Trump stated:
“If Israel can’t do the job without killing everyone, I will do the job or Syria can do the job.”
The Syrian government denies any interest in intervening in Lebanon. Trump was even tougher and said:
“Without us, without the United States, there would be no Israel.”

The war in Ukraine was also highlighted at the G7 summit in Évian. Donald Trump called a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky great and said that Russia should close a deal because, like Ukraine, it is also losing thousands of soldiers in combat every month. The Ukrainian president reinforced that he proposed a meeting with Russian Vladimir Putin at the G7. The Kremlin denied having received any invitation.

With the presidents of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the European Council, António Costa, Lula discussed the bloc's veto on Brazilian meat. In a speech about international partnerships, Lula criticized protectionism and said that the fight against transnational crimes - including organized crime - must take into account respect for the sovereignty of States.
