The Federal Police (PF) concluded that banker Daniel Vorcaro paid nights at a hotel in Lisbon for the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), and senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI) in 2024.  The information appears in a report on Operation Compliance Zero investigations, produced by the corporation in April this year. The document was made public this Tuesday (16) by the minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) André Mendonça, rapporteur of the Master case at the Court.  Related news: Second Panel of the STF maintains arrests of Vorcaro's father and cousin. According to the PF, WhatsApp messages found on the banker's cell phone reveal that Vorcaro asked an ally called Leo Serrano, on June 18, 2024, to make hotel reservations in the Portuguese capital for "Ciro and Hugo". According to investigators, the names refer to the president of the Chamber and the senator. The banker then sent an audio message to Serrano and expressed concern about the privacy of the Four Seasons Hotel, the location chosen for accommodation.  "After making the reservations, on the same day, Daniel Bueno Vorcaro sent an audio message in which he demonstrated strong concern about the privacy of the event, even highlighting the need to privatize the space located in front of the venue, in order to prevent any viewing of what was happening inside", says the report. Motta is not investigated by the PF. The senator is among those investigated and has already been the target of a search and seizure authorized by the STF.  Costs According to the PF, the cost of five nights at the hotel was approximately 3 thousand euros, equivalent to R$ 18 thousand. A payment invoice was found in the banker's email  "The invoice itself [nota fiscal] indicates the contracting of “2x Jr. Suites”, one intended for Ciro Nogueira and the other for Hugo Motta, which reinforces the identity of the beneficiaries of the expense", informed the corporation. Proximity The Operation Compliance report also revealed the closeness between Ciro Nogueira and Vorcaro. According to the PF, Ciro had trips paid for by Vorcaro to Paris, New York and Courchevel, in the French Alps.  According to the corporation's calculations, the trips cost more than R$400,000. "It is concluded that the direct economic benefit attributed to Ciro Nogueira, resulting from the international trips examined in subtopic 5.3.4, amounts to R$ 468,721.78, without considering expenses with private flights", concluded the PF.  Other side  This afternoon, when asked by journalists about the episode, Motta said that he is "calm" and that he was in Lisbon to participate in a legal event promoted by minister Gilmar Mendes. So far, Ciro Nogueira has not commented on the PF report.
