Suspect of keeping woman under physical and sexual torture for almost two decades is arrested in AP A 42-year-old man was arrested this Tuesday (16), in Santana (AP), suspected of torturing his 44-year-old partner for 17 years. The victim told the police that she was attacked as a form of punishment and that the entire relationship was marked by domestic violence. Police began searching and arrested the suspect inside the couple's home. He was charged with the crime of torture in the context of domestic violence. The delegate reported that, in 2011, the victim had already reported cases of torture, but did not continue the process. The investigation showed that the man practiced psychological and physical torture. The victim has scars on his body caused by the attacks. According to police, the attacks took place in front of the couple's two children. On some occasions, they tried to protect the mother, but were unable to do so. On June 4, Maída Vaz Fialho, 31 years old, was rescued with two children after living in private prison for 15 years in a riverside community in Macapá. The rescue took place in the community of Rio Fugido, after doctors reported signs of aggression on the victim's body. According to the police, upon arriving at the scene, the agents were greeted by gunfire by Vailson Pinheiro de Carvalho, 34 years old. There was a confrontation and the suspect died.
