Blood donation in Óbidos ASCOM-PMO Odirlei Santos Óbidos, in the west of Pará, will host a blood donation campaign on the 18th and 19th of June with the goal of collecting 200 bags to reinforce the stocks of the Hemocentro Regional de Santarém, responsible for serving 22 municipalities in the region. ✅ Follow the g1 Santarém e Região channel on WhatsApp The mobilization began this Monday (15) and is part of the national Red June campaign, created to encourage blood donation at a time of year when blood centers tend to record a reduction in stocks, while the demand for transfusions increases. Collections will be carried out at Santa Casa de Misericórdia Dom Floriano Loewenau, in the center of Óbidos. Service to volunteers will occur uninterruptedly, from 7am to 5pm. According to the coordination of the Transfusion Agency of the Municipal Health Department, the expectation is to have both frequent donors and people who wish to donate for the first time. The coordinator of the Transfusion Agency of the Department of Health, Ana Júlia Sarrazin, explains that all necessary support will be passed on to donors and reinforces the appeal for the population to attend on the two days of the campaign. "We are involved in this World Cup atmosphere and we hope that our population will help us and 'score a goal' for their solidarity, coming to Santa Casa to make their donation. We know that it is a time of festive atmosphere, but we also understand that nothing prevents donors who are already used to it and those who have not yet donated, but are interested, from attending and participating in this act which, it is always important to highlight, saves lives", recalled Ana Júlia. This year's campaign references the atmosphere of the World Cup, using the idea that donating blood is a way of “scoring a great goal” for solidarity and contributing to saving lives. Who can donate To be a donor, you must: Be between 16 and 69 years of age; Minors under 18 must present authorization from their parents or guardians; Weigh at least 50 kilos; Be in good health; Present official document with photo; Have slept at least six hours the night before; Be fed, avoiding fatty foods in the four hours before donating.
