Municipalities, museums, universities, foundations and cultural organizations across the state of São Paulo can now register to participate in Heritage Day 2026, an event promoted by the Secretariat for Culture, Economy and Creative Industry of the Government of the State of São Paulo and managed by the Energy and Sanitation Foundation (FES) The event foresees a series of activities about memory, culture and identity and, this year, it will take place between the 7th and 9th of August, with the theme Our Heritage is a Journey. Secretary of Culture, Economy and Creative Industry of the State of São Paulo, Marilia Marton stated in a statement released by the department that "more than a celebration, the Heritage Day is a powerful instrument of preservation and pride in being from São Paulo." According to the secretariat, city halls and municipal secretariats will be able to join the event program even without having defined any activities, as there will be support for planning and developing proposals.
