According to the prosecutor's indictment, Eduardo encouraged the United States to enact tariffs against Brazilian exports last year to pressure the Court not to convict former president Jair Bolsonaro in the coup plot process.  Despite the attempt, Bolsonaro was sentenced to 27 years and three months in prison.  According to the deputy prosecutor, Eduardo's threats occurred during the process and were carried out through tariffs, the suspension of the visas of eight of the 11 ministers of the Court and through the economic sanctions of the Magnitsky Law.  Teixeira also cited a message in which Eduardo called his father ungrateful when commenting on the repercussions of the tariff.  "It seems that it is a relatively simple situation. Coercing judicial authorities is a crime of coercion. There is a factual context and a set of evidence, evidenced, that this coercion existed", he stated.  After support from the PGR and the Federal Public Defender's Office (DPU), which will defend Eduardo, the floor will be given to Minister Alexandre de Moraes, rapporteur of the case, who will vote for the conviction or acquittal of the former deputy. The remaining votes will be given by ministers Cristiano Zanin, Cármen Lúcia and the president of the collegiate, Flávio Dino. Since last year, Eduardo Bolsonaro has been in the United States and had his parliamentary mandate revoked for missing sessions of the Chamber of Deputies.
