US President Donald Trump and President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) posed again this Tuesday (16) before a gala dinner in the city of Evian, France.
Earlier, the two leaders had already participated in the traditional "family photo" (see the video below).

The meeting takes place amid tensions between Brazil and the USA due to the Trump administration's application of new tariffs against Brazilian products.
➡️ The so-called "family photo" is the official photograph taken at meetings of heads of state and government. The name comes from the idea of bringing together all participants in a single image and serves as a symbol of unity.
In addition to Trump and Lula, the following also took part in the photo:
the President of France, Emmanuel Macron;
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney;
the Prime Minister of Italy, Giorgia Meloni;
the Prime Minister of Japan, Sanae Takaichi;
the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen;
the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa;
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz;
the president of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi;
South Korean President Lee Jae Myung;
the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi;
Kenyan President William Ruto;
and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
After the photo, Lula spoke briefly with Úrsula von der Leyen while still at the portrait location. As they talked, Trump walked past the two. Lula and Trump did not greet each other on this occasion (see the video below).
There is no information until the last update of this report whether the Brazilian and North American presidents spoke at the opening of the summit.

Context: the G7 is a group of the world's main rich economies that meets to discuss global issues. The United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy and Japan — in addition to the European Union — participate in the meetings. Brazil is not a member of the G7, but can be invited to the summit.
