This contract comes as the culmination of a negotiation process that began last May 12, when the Syrian Petroleum Company signed a memorandum of understanding with ConocoPhillips, the French company Total Energies, and Qatar Energy, to study commercial exploration opportunities in Syrian territorial waters.
