According to the Civil Police, the medical records, previously analyzed, indicate that the patient underwent resuscitation maneuvers for a period of more than one hour, including three attempts at orotracheal intubation, all of which were unsuccessful.
According to the record, at the end of the resuscitation attempts, the patient was reevaluated, and the absence of central and peripheral pulses, absence of heartbeat, mydriatic pupils and asystole rhythm on the cardiac monitor were found.

The doctor responsible for declaring the elderly man's death requested leave from Santa Casa de Presidente Bernardes, as announced on May 21st. She was interviewed by the police four days later, on May 25.
According to the statement to the police, the doctor said that the patient arrived at the hospital around 6 pm, in a municipal ambulance from Emilianópolis, in serious condition. According to her, the man was unconscious, in serious condition and showing signs of respiratory failure (acute shortness of breath).
The professional told the police that, given the situation, the first emergency protocols were initiated immediately.
