Meiji Restoration Confirmation of policy to allow food consumption tax reduction of 1% even if basic tax rate is zero

Regarding the consumption tax reduction for food products, the Japan Restoration Association held a general meeting of the Taxation Research Committee and confirmed that, while the basic policy is to reduce the tax rate to zero as promised by the administration, it will also allow for a reduction of the tax rate to 1%, taking into account the period required to repair the cash register system.
