Over-indebted mainly to China, African banks and the Eurobond market, Congo-Brazzaville requested on May 11 a new support program from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a year after the end of the first. Support requested to “support economic recovery and strengthen control of public finances”, according to the government. Discussions are therefore underway and the IMF has formulated “recommendations”, or rather reiterated recommendations. Because, essentially, the efforts required by this institution remain the same, to the great dismay of observers.
