The investigations began after the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan) informed the PF that objects with characteristics compatible with the assets belonging to the church were advertised for sale at auction.

According to the Office for the Suppression of Crimes against the Environment and Historical Heritage, the two torch holders were located and seized for technical analysis. The pieces examined are part of the church’s historical, artistic and cultural heritage.
After recovering the goods, the PF completed the return to the originating entity.
