The flames consumed the main room where objects used in religious celebrations were stored and caused damage to two other rooms in the space. In a video released, the fire destroyed the main area of ​​the sacristy, seriously compromising the structure of the place due to the intensity of the flames. The initial suspicion is that the fire was caused by a short circuit, but the circumstances of the case must still be investigated. In a note published on social media, the Senhor Bom Jesus Parish confirmed the incident and highlighted that there were no victims, recording only material losses. The note also expressed gratitude for the community's concern. “Gratitude for the expressions of concern, solidarity and prayers received from the entire community”, says an excerpt from the note. The parish also announced that service at the parish office continues normally, at the usual times and without changes. As for masses and other religious activities, any changes will be informed through the church's official channels.
