The Supreme Court will today hear the PIL filed regarding the use of Aadhaar card. The petition said that Aadhaar card is being used as proof of citizenship, residence and date of birth beyond being an identity card, whereas the law does not allow this. In the petition filed on behalf of Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay, it has been demanded that instructions should be given to limit its use only to identity verification. The bench of Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justice V Mohana can conduct the hearing.
