The arrests took place in compliance with court warrants. The police pointed out that among the evidence obtained in the investigation are records in which the mother herself reported episodes of violence committed against one of her children, including physical attacks that left marks and prevented the child from attending school for a few days. It was also highlighted the gathering of testimonies from witnesses who described situations of violence inside the couple's residence. The children's stepfather, according to the investigation, had subjected the nine-year-old to serious attacks, including an episode in which the child was hanged until he lost consciousness.
