Hemomar launches campaign and reinforces that donation can save up to four lives On World Blood Donor Day, celebrated this Sunday (14), Hemomar launched the "Craques da Donação" campaign, which combines the atmosphere of the World Cup and the June festivities to encourage blood donation. According to Hemomar's social worker, Frassinete Santos, the initiative is part of the Red June campaign, which seeks to raise awareness among the population about the importance of blood donation. The mobilization continues until June 30th. The campaign is being carried out in São Luís, at the unit located on Rua Cinco de Janeiro, in the Jordoa neighborhood. In addition to the capital, the action also takes place in blood centers in Imperatriz, Caxias, Balsas, Santa Inês, Pinheiro, Açailândia and Bacabal. 📲 Click here and subscribe to the g1 Maranhão channel on WhatsApp According to the social worker, the reduction in donations during the June period reinforces the importance of volunteer participation. Each donation can save up to four lives. "We want to make a call to our donors, as we are in the June festivities period, when donations tend to decrease. Even so, we continue to encourage the population to participate. Each donation can save up to four lives and, if everyone does their part, we will be able to increase the capacity to meet hospital demand", he highlighted. Who can donate? To donate blood, you must weigh more than 50 kilos, be in good health and fed. Upon arriving at the blood center, the volunteer must present an official document with a photo and go through screening before donating.
