UN: Gang violence in Haiti has already claimed 2,300 lives in 2026

Since the assassination of then-President Jovenel Moïse in 2021, violence by criminal gangs has escalated in Haiti. This year, more than 2,300 people are said to have been killed, according to a UN report.
