The National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) suspended the sale, distribution and use of specific batches of Ypê products. The measure published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Monday (15) applies to disinfectants, detergents and washing liquids.  According to Anvisa, the action was motivated by non-compliance with requirements set out in RDC nº 47/2013, identified during a health inspection carried out between April 27th and 30th, 2026. Affected batches Bak Ypê and Pinho Ypê disinfectants: suspended all batches with ending 1 manufactured before March 1, 2026; Dishwasher detergents (including versions with active enzymes, soft touch, concentrate and clear and green lines): suspended all batches with ending 1 manufactured before March 1, 2026; Clothes washing machines (Tixan Ypê and liquid Ypê - antibac, coconut and vanilla, premium): suspended all batches with ending 1 manufactured before April 1, 2026. According to the agency, the reports presented by the company indicated satisfactory results for products manufactured after these dates, which led to the measure being restricted to older batches only. For disinfectants and detergents, products manufactured between March 1st and 31st, 2026 were considered suitable. In the case of washing machines, tests demonstrated compliance for items produced between April 1st and May 7th, 2026. Market monitoring The agency also informed that affected products that have already been distributed and are available on the market must follow the procedures agreed with the company regarding the maintenance of health monitoring actions. Understand the case The crisis began on May 7, when Anvisa ordered the suspension of more than 100 batches of Ypê products after identifying flaws considered serious in the manufacturing processes at the Amparo unit. The inspection found 76 sanitary irregularities and indicated a risk of microbiological contamination in products manufactured at the industrial plant. The case gained even more attention because the company had already recorded, in November 2025, an episode of microbiological contamination involving the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa in products from the washing line. Bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a common bacteria in the environment and can be found in water, soil and humid places. In healthy people, it usually does not cause serious problems. However, it can cause infections in people with low immunity, such as patients undergoing cancer treatment, transplant recipients, the elderly and people with diseases that affect the immune system. Therefore, Anvisa classified the measures adopted as preventive to avoid risks to the population's health.
