"It's very complicated for us who are mothers, in this case I work all day. I understand that the strike needs to be carried out to improve the whole situation, but it is a little complicated, it makes life difficult for people who are mothers and need to work. Still this Monday, a conciliation hearing is scheduled to be held in court between the City Hall and the Municipal Employees Union. The City Hall said it will only comment after the hearing and the Union published a video saying it hopes this will be resolved this Monday. Taubaté employees vote on proposal to end the strike Strike The strike by municipal employees completed 14 days this Monday and continues to impact public services. According to the union, the main demand is the replacement of inflation accumulated since the last salary adjustment, granted in 2024. The employees are asking for a 9.43% increase in salaries. On Wednesday (10), the category decided to maintain the strike after rejecting the proposal presented by the city hall during an assembly held on Avenida do Povo. The city hall proposed an adjustment of 2.5%, with application scheduled for next year, a proposal that was not accepted by the workers. Last week, the Court ordered that at least 70% of employees remain active during the strike to guarantee the continuity of essential services. City hall and the union are expected to meet again this Monday (15), in a conciliation hearing scheduled by the courts, in an attempt to reach an agreement and end the movement.
