European markets hit record highs as tensions ease

The European STOXX 600 index recorded its highest level ever, at the beginning of trading on Monday, after the United States and Iran reached an initial agreement to end the war between them and reopen the Strait of Hormuz, exceeding its previous record that it reached before the outbreak of the conflict.
