Traffic is moving at a crawl on the roads of Shimla, the capital of Himachal. There is a long traffic jam this morning between Sanjauli and Chharabra. Due to this, not only the local people but also the tourists coming to visit the mountains from across the country are troubled. The situation is such that a 10 minute journey is taking one and a half to two hours. Due to this, anger is rising among the people against the government and the police. Traffic jam started near Dhali vegetable market of Shimla from 5:30 in the morning, till 12 noon there was a jam of about 8 to 10 kilometers long. Long lines of vehicles from Chharabra reached Navbahar and Bhattakufar of Sanjauli. What did the people stuck in the jam say? Suresh, a resident of Chiog, told that he left Fagu at 9 am and reached Dhali Mandi at 11 am. He told that it took more than one and a half hour from Chharabra to Dhali. Many ambulances also remained stuck between Sanjauli-Dhaali and Kufri. Sahil Verma, a resident of Bhekhalti, said that it took him more than an hour to reach Dhali from Chharabra. He told that in Shimla, Dhali-Sanjauli road as well as the bypass was completely jammed. He has demanded from SP Shimla to deploy additional police personnel to regulate traffic. Due to these reasons, children, locals and tourists are all troubled due to traffic jam. Due to traffic jam, children could not reach school, working people and employed people could not reach office and work in the morning. Similarly, tourists also had to face hours of traffic jam. Due to traffic jam in Shimla, there was jam not only on NH-5 but also on Shimla-Karsog Highway for two kilometers from Dhali to Mashobra side. There was a traffic jam on Mandi-Kullu NH in the morning. On the other hand, a long traffic jam was seen on the Mandi-Kullu National Highway on Tuesday morning.
