Reproduction The accident Six people died when 2 helicopters crashed in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the Southwest Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this Sunday morning (14). According to witnesses, the PP-MAC and PR-DJJ aircraft collided in the air. According to Major Fábio Contreras, spokesman for the RJ Fire Department, no one on board survived. Residents recorded the accident on several videos. The Fire Department was called at 8:59 am to the incident. The aircraft crashed on the land of an abandoned church that had been rented by BYD, in the block of Avenida das Américas and Beth Lago and Rivadávia Campos streets. One of the helicopters exploded when it hit the ground, and the flames spread to the electric vehicles, causing more explosions. The plume of smoke could be seen from miles away.
