At the opening of the presentation, the artist “talked” to Gabriel in a video created by artificial intelligence and then started the show singing eternal hits in the voice of GD, such as “Amor de Copo”, “Paraquedas”, “Jenifer” and “Quem Chorava Hoje Ri”, who died in 2019, in a plane crash.
“I know that in heaven you are happy, my brother!”, said the singer as he was moved to see the audience singing along to the hits during the moment.
But the tribute went beyond the repertoire. On his social networks, Henry Freitas had already announced that he would wear a costume that belonged to Gabriel during the presentation. The singer paid tribute to GD by wearing a pearly green suit that belonged to the artist, a piece that was given to him by Cizinato Diniz, Gabriel's father, as a birthday present in November last year.
Before going on stage, in an interview with g1, the singer spoke about the meaning of wearing the costume that belonged to the artist.
"I thought a million times about not wearing it. Not because of a lack of affection. I tried to reproduce one just like it, because it's something so angelic, so special that I didn't want to wear it. But God put an answer in my heart that I was supposed to wear it. And, by God's own coincidence, the last time Gabriel wore this outfit Brazil was playing in the World Cup. And I fell on the day of a Brazil game here, so I said: 'no, I have to wear it'", said the singer.
The show continued with the singer's hits, such as “Me Fala Qual é a Necessidade”, “Ímã de Problema” and “Superfantastismo”, amid an audience that did not sit still for a single minute. The artist also sang viral songs on the internet, which are on people's lips.
Henry highlighted, at all times during the presentation, the joy of being on the stage of São João de Campina Grande once again. Earlier, to g1, the singer reinforced the importance of the city for his career.
"The turning point in my career was at that show [in 2023]. I think 50% of the audience, or even more, didn't know me, I was trending on YouTube for a week after the show here. There are places that have a magical energy and I think Campina Grande is that place," he said.
Henry even called a fan on stage after she asked to take a photo with him. He then invited the young woman to dance square dance with him on stage. An uncomfortable moment also marked the show. Near the end of the performance, Henry had to interrupt the performance when he noticed a fight in the audience: “Here, São João is for playing in peace”, said the singer.
At the end of the show, Henry went into the crowd on the shoulders of a security guard and sang Brazilian funk classics. “The pants ripped”, he joked during the moment, which left no one standing still. The singer also said that he didn't want to leave, asked where the after party would be and stated that he would stay in Campina Grande after the show.

Mari Fernandez performs with a retrospective atmosphere
Singer Mari Fernandez was responsible for closing the night's program and took to the main stage at 1:30 am this Sunday (14), at São João de Campina Grande, singing the song “Intuição”, one of the biggest hits of her career and also the song that marked her first participation in the event, in 2022.
The choice of the track to open the show was not by chance. Before going on stage, in an interview with TV Paraíba, the artist highlighted the emotional value of the song in her career.
"When I came to sing in Campina Grande [in 2022], I had just released my DVD in Fortaleza and I felt in my heart that not only Campina Grande, but Brazil was embracing me, embracing that girl who dreamed of having her songs in the mouth of the people. So, if I had to choose a favorite, I think 'Intuition' is that song that really touches the hearts of the people of Paraíba", he said.
Before going on stage, the audience was surprised by the display of the image of the poet Bráulio Bessa on the screen, reciting a poem that opened the singer's performance. Both are from Alto Santo, Ceará. Mari explained to g1 that the “São João MFZ de Alto Santo” tour was designed as a retrospective of her own musical trajectory.
“I think people will have a lot of that feeling of nostalgia, because we've been bringing a tour to São João that tells my musical story over these five years, since when I started there in Alto Santo, Ceará”, he stated.
The night's repertoire brought together songs that consolidated the artist's career in piseiro and forró, including “Quem Vale Menos”, “Comunicação Falhou”, “Parada Louca”, “Só de Imaginar” and “Agonia”. The show also featured tracks from the singer's most recent project, “Mari no Barzinho”. At this point in the performance, the singer called some fans up to the stage and simulated a bar, drinking with them, while singing the songs from the project.
In addition to Henry Freitas and Mari Fernandez, two other artists took to the main stage at Parque do Povo this Saturday (13). Singer Lipe Lucena opened the program at 5pm. This was the first time that a performance took place at this time on the main stage. The change in schedule occurred due to the Brazilian team's game against Morocco, at 7pm. After the game, the public watched Ávine Vinny's show, the second attraction of the night.
