New technologies reduce errors and waste in agriculture in the interior of SP Reproduction/TV TEM The arrival of "Agro 5.0" is transforming work in the field with new automation technologies in the interior of São Paulo. Rural producers use applications and robots to automate processes, cut costs and increase productivity. In Guararapes (SP), a farm uses an application to monitor 11 thousand heads of cattle. Pasture information goes directly to the office in digital format. The livestock coordinator, Antônio Avelino Mateus, states that the system allowed quick corrections and reduced the chances of errors by 90%. The property sells 1,000 bulls and 700 breeding females (mothers) per year, in addition to producing genetic material. The application stores the complete history of each animal: Weight and date of birth; Feed consumption; Medication history. For the administrative coordinator, Fernando Barbosa, digital monitoring helps to quickly identify genetic problems in animals. Research consultant, Ana Carolina, explains that the system is constantly updated based on the farm's daily operations, which brings more precision and agility to the database. In Araçatuba (SP), an experimental farm uses solar-powered robots. The use of machines reduced the waste of agricultural pesticides (pesticides) by 90%. Robots identify weeds and apply the product only where it is needed. According to sustainability specialist Patrícia Dias, the technique avoids waste and reduces the fuel consumption of tractors, as the machines depend only on the sun. In addition to ensuring more sustainable production, the arrival of these new technologies requires field workers to undergo training to operate the new systems.
