Pre-monsoon is active in 8 states of the country. It is raining in 9 states including Rajasthan. In Madhya Pradesh, it rained in 4 districts including Bhopal on Saturday evening. A tree fell on an ambulance after the storm in Itarsi. Electrical wires and trees fell at many places. The main gate of the fair was uprooted. 5 people died in accidents during storm and rain in UP. Two people lost their lives due to lightning in Unnao and Ghazipur. Whereas in Kasganj, husband, wife and daughter died after the roof of their house collapsed during the storm. Pratapgarh Medical College was flooded. It rained in many districts of Rajasthan including Jaipur on Saturday. The wall of a house collapsed due to storm and rain in Churu district. Four members of the family got buried under the debris. The villagers immediately started relief work and pulled out the people buried under the debris and took them to the hospital. In many cities of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, the mercury remained more than 40°C on Friday. The highest mercury in the country was recorded in Yavatmal, Maharashtra. The temperature here was 42.4°C. Whereas 42°C was recorded in Rajnandgaon of Chhattisgarh, 41.9°C in Bhavnagar of Gujarat, 40.8°C in Jaisalmer of Rajasthan.
