The first rector of the oldest school in the country: "We must preserve it, but also open it to the world"

María José Alcaraz (54) was chosen to lead the Monserrat National School in Córdoba. This establishment, considered a "living museum", was founded in 1687 and only in 1998 accepted the entry of female students. Although she will hold the highest management position at the institution, she says she will continue to be "the old lady in English," the subject she always taught.
