Admitted on Wednesday (10), the patient, a 31-year-old Brazilian woman, was monitored at the Emílio Ribas Institute of Infectious Diseases. The tests that ruled out the suspicion were carried out by the Adolfo Lutz Institute.

The patient is being treated for acute gastroenterocolitis. She had recently traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), remains hospitalized and had a favorable clinical evolution.
During the monitoring of both, the “Prof. Alexandre Vranjac” Epidemiological Surveillance Center (CVE-SP) began the investigation after the patients met the clinical and epidemiological criteria for classification as suspected cases, considering the recent history of travel to areas with active transmission and the symptoms presented, in addition to notifying the Ministry of Health.
Outbreak
The Democratic Republic of Congo is facing an Ebola outbreak. The number of confirmed cases of the disease now exceeds 689, with 139 deaths recorded.
According to information from the Reuters news agency, 17 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours, all in the province of Ituri, where the first cases were registered.
