The left-wing candidate in the Peruvian elections, Roberto Sánchez, asked his opponent, the right-wing Keiko Fujimori, for a joint and thorough review of the votes to examine cases of alleged irregularities. Fujimori, who maintains the lead by just a few hundred votes with nearly 99% of the minutes counted, rejected the proposal and asked the population for calm and prudence in the midst of elections marked by polarization.
