The leaders of the seven large industrialized economies meet from June 15 to 17 in the spa city of Évian-les-Bains, in eastern France, a city that has been armored by some 15,000 troops. Dominating the agenda is the war that the United States and Israel started in February against Iran, with the Strait of Hormuz closed and 20% of the oil and gas in the Persian Gulf without an outlet, as well as the conflict in Ukraine and the Chinese trade surplus.
