The group is made up of 19 jurists, magistrates and academics, and has until the end of the year to present proposals that modernize and improve the system. The last reform of the Judiciary took place in 2004. Now, one of the goals is digital transformation, evaluating the impacts of the use of artificial intelligence. Among the main problems currently faced are: Excess resources; Regions without access to Justice; The slowness of processes, such as in social security actions, for example. Minister Edson Fachin stated that the reform is necessary to strengthen the population's trust in Justice. "It is necessary that at this moment we dedicate ourselves to a project of a structural, permanent nature, which aims to modernize the Justice system in Brazil. And this perspective, in our view, has the support of all those who understand that the Justice system in Brazil still has a lot to improve and can do so", said the president of the STF. In addition to the reform, President Edson Fachin also wants to create a code of ethics for the Court. Minister Cármen Lúcia is the rapporteur. And in recent months, despite the limitations imposed by the STF itself, the Judiciary has been criticized for the so-called penduricalhos, which are payments above the constitutional ceiling.
