Between games and lots of forró, the two went to Parque do Povo and haven't left each other since. "We met at Vila do Artesão last year, when he said something funny to me because I was taking money from my boots. He asked me to dance and I told him that if he was really interested he would go after me (...) We danced together in the rain, we went to Parque do Povo and then, when I arrived at the door, I held his hand and never let go", explained Carol. Couple who met in São João de Campina Grande 1 year ago get married in a collective wedding Personal Archive/Carol Naara Over the past few months, the couple's lives have completely changed. The two had a baby, who is now three months old, and decided to celebrate their union at a Collective Wedding. Carol says that a family friend who works to organize the event suggested their participation in the ceremony. The two were already planning to get married in June to celebrate one year of marriage and saw the opportunity as the ideal moment. "We were already wanting to get married during the São João Period. Then we heard from a friend of my mother who works as part of the collective wedding organization (...) Then he looked at me and said: let's go? And it's a dream come true, because that's where it all started. We'll be able, in this case, to celebrate another year of marriage every year inside São João!", said the bride. Young couple who met in high school make their dream come true On the left Matheus and, on the right, Lívia, who met in high school and are getting married at Parque do Povo Bruna Couto/g1 Matheus Pessoa, aged 23, and Lívia Pessoa, aged 22, born in Campina Grande, despite being young, found love for each other since high school and, with the opportunity of a collective wedding at São João 2026, they managed to make their dream come true. "We trust each other so much that she simply said, 'do you trust me?', so I said, 'I do.' and she said 'I trust', (that's how) I got our house. So I think that if it weren't for her in my life I wouldn't be able to achieve much. That's why I say we were able to get married at Parque do Povo because of her", said Matheus. The couple already has a six-year-old daughter and, in previous years, always enjoyed the São João festivities at Parque do Povo. This tradition will also continue in 2026 and in the coming years. "Yes, we love having a drink, dancing a little forro, because it's a really cool environment. I really like the cultural thing, like that, you know? And I like supporting the culture of our city", said Lívia. Trending videos on g1 Most watched videos from g1 Paraíba
