On Friday, the Casablanca Court of Appeal issued prison sentences against 18 people on the grounds of their participation in the “Generation Z212” movement protests, which Morocco witnessed last fall to demand reforms in the health, education and anti-corruption sectors. The penalties ranged from one year suspended to ten months in force, while the authorities continue to pursue other files related to the protests that sparked widespread controversy in the country.
