Driver loses control, hits a pole and abandons destroyed vehicle on the coast of SP A driver crashed his car into a pole on an avenue in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, and abandoned the vehicle with oil leaking. Surveillance images obtained by TV Tribuna, a Globo affiliate, show the moment of the crash and the driver leaving the scene on foot, in the early hours of this Friday (12). Nobody was injured. The accident occurred around 5am, on Avenida Senador Pinheiro Machado, close to Rua Carlos Gomes. Surveillance images recorded that the driver, after the crash, left the scene walking normally. CET-Santos reported that it was called to the accident by the Fire Department. According to CET, the vehicle that hit a pole and was abandoned on the road was leaking oil. The vehicle was removed by a tow truck and, subsequently, sawdust was applied to the road in addition to cleaning the debris. During the cleaning, traffic was diverted to Rua João Carvalhal, heading to Rua Alfredo Albertini, Avenida Doutor Moura Ribeiro and Avenida Senador Pinheiro Machado. The road was completely reopened around 7:15 am.
