A 20-year-old man died after a confrontation with military police on Thursday night (11), in Santana, 17 kilometers from Macapá. The case occurred around 11:30 pm, in an area close to the Bus Terminal Fair, in the Nova Brasília neighborhood.
According to the PM, during patrolling, the 4th Battalion team saw the suspect carrying a firearm. The military attempted to approach, but the man fled into a residence.

According to the corporation, even after another attempted approach, the man pulled out his gun and shot at the team. In the confrontation, the suspect was seriously hit. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called and confirmed the death at the scene.
The action was supported by the Special Operations Battalion Kennel (BOPE), which found portions of drugs similar to marijuana and cocaine. The PM's survey showed that the suspect had been admitted to the Amapá Penitentiary Administration Institute (Iapen) for drug trafficking and attempted murder, in addition to wearing an electronic ankle bracelet.

The firearm and the seized materials were sent to the Integrated Public Security Operations Center (Ciosp) in Santana.
