"On June 14, 1991, it was a Friday, I had just gotten out of a three-year relationship, and he had also come from a long-term relationship. I saw him entering the fairgrounds and I was already leaving", he recalls.
The presentation was quick and without high expectations, far from the motto "love at first sight". But, after that meeting, Reginaldo got Daniela's contact information and asked her out a week later.
"We went out to talk and ended up kissing. In the end, he said he was my boyfriend. And I said: 'But I don't like you. What if it doesn't work out?'. Anyway, we've been together for 35 years," he recalls.

One of the main attractions of the party is the traditional giant cake of the “matchmaker” saint. The dessert, a symbol of the celebration, is filled with dulce de leche and covered with whipped cream, weighing around four tons.
But what attracts the faithful is not just the sweets. What devotees of the "matchmaker" saint are most looking forward to is finding the little medals that are hidden among the cake's filling.
In total, 3 thousand medals with the image of Saint Anthony, a gold medal and a special gift: a pair of rings. Everything to give a “help” to those looking for the perfect match.
The cake sale started at 7am this Friday. The Parish of Santo Antônio is located at Rua Santo Antônio, 11-49, in Jardim Bela Vista.

Holy 'matchmaker'
Saint Anthony is one of the most popular in the Catholic Church, venerated not only in Padua, Italy, where he died and has a basilica that houses his remains, but throughout the world.
His fame as a matchmaker was attributed after a miracle, even after his death. According to tradition, a woman from the Italian city of Naples wanted to get married, but did not have the value of the dowry - which, according to the customs of the time, the bride's family should give to the groom's family.
The woman would then have turned to Santo Antônio. The deity would have appeared and given him a ticket that should be exchanged for silver coins with a certain merchant. She would have gotten 400 coins and started to be sought after by good boys.
