A football match between police officers and children on the dirt field of the Irmã Dulce settlement began with dribbling and ended with a social action meeting promoted by the Military Police in Uberlândia, in the Triângulo Mineiro. During a second meeting held at the location, participants received footballs, boots and shirts from the Brazilian team.
After the first game, the police returned to the settlement to deliver the materials to the children.

In a video released by the Military Police on social media, soldier José Alves, 25, appears playing football with children and teenagers from the settlement during a patrol in the community. Watch the video above.
According to the corporation, the police officer decided to stop the vehicle and participate in the match. During the game, he ended up being dribbled by the youngsters.
"It is routine in our preventive patrolling for us to stop, make contact with traders, residents. We stopped there, close to the field, and the idea came up for one of the soldiers to play ball with the boys", explained Sergeant Marcos Vinicius, responsible for the police team.

After the repercussions of the match, the police returned to the settlement on Friday (5). In partnership with the Special Group for Policing in Risk Areas (Gepar) and other supporters, they distributed football kits to children and teenagers in the community.
During the visit, the military also talked to the young people about dreams, studies and respect. Furthermore, they reinforced the commitment of the Military Police (PM) to community policing.
"These actions with the community bring us even closer to the population. We start to be seen not only as a stereotype of repressive police, but we also start to be seen as friendly police. They are the future of our nation", concluded Sergeant Marcos.
