Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomeos stated that the restoration works of the Heybeliada Seminary are expected to be completed in September and that a constructive dialogue is being carried out with the Turkish authorities to reopen the school. Reminding that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan gave instructions to investigate the possibilities of opening the school, Bartholomeos stated that they wished the opening to be held with the participation of Erdoğan. Emphasizing the importance of dialogue in Turkish-Greek relations, Bartholomeos said that minorities should not be made part of political conflicts. He thanked President Erdoğan, stating that there has been significant progress in minority rights in Türkiye in the last 20 years.
