Motorcyclist is shot by municipal guard in São Vicente A 42-year-old app motorcyclist claims to have been shot by an agent from the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) after an argument during an approach in São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo. David Oliveira contested the version presented by the corporation, which reported that no one was hit by the shot. In an interview with TV Tribuna, a Globo affiliate, David said that he ran the red light when accessing Avenida Marechal Deodoro, in the Itararé neighborhood, while transporting a passenger. Then, the guards informed that the motorcycle would be collected from the yard. David said he questioned the measure and argued that he should just receive a fine for the infraction. Reproduction The motorcyclist reported that, during the argument, one of the agents acted hostile, slapping him in the chest and then pointing a gun at him. "He put the gun on my waist, cocked," he said. According to David, when he tried to free himself, he was shot in the leg. Witness A witness witnessed the approach and reported to TV Tribuna that, after hearing the shot, he began recording the incident. According to her, the agents noticed the recording and immediately left the place. "They looked up, saw that they were being recorded and quickly picked him up, put him in the car and drove away," he reported. What does GCM say? In a statement, São Vicente City Hall reported that a GCM agent acted in self-defense after being attacked and threatened by the motorcyclist, who allegedly tried to take the guard's weapon. According to the municipal administration, the incident began after David ran the red light. The city hall stated that, upon being warned, he began to verbally and physically attack the agent. According to the note, the guard adopted the necessary procedures to ensure the safety of the incident. As recorded in the incident report, no one was hit by the shot. The motorcyclist was taken to the Central Emergency Room for medical care and, later, presented to the police authority. The municipal administration reported that the case was automatically forwarded to the GCM Internal Affairs, as per the procedure in situations involving the discharge of a firearm by company agents. In a statement, the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP) reported that, after receiving assistance, the motorcyclist was taken to the São Vicente Police Station, where he signed a commitment to appear before the Special Criminal Court (Jecrim).
